Infobox[edit]

The Infobox is a bit confusing because the article is mainly about the theatre company known as the Comédie-Française, but also a bit about the company's theatre building, the Salle Richelieu, which of course since 1799 has also been known as the Comédie-Française. I suppose what we really need is a separate article about the Salle Richelieu, probably focusing on its architectural history, and its uses during the nine years before the Comédie-Française moved in. (But that would be quite a project.) I tried to clarify things a bit and hopefully this is less confusing than before.) One oddity is the watercolor of the interior of the theatre (File:Paris Comedie-Francaise.jpg) which shows the auditorim as it appeared shortly after it opened in 1790. It probably never appeared this way when the Comédie-Française used it, since, if I'm reading Alexis Donnet's 1821 book Architectonographie correctly (see 121–122), the interior was substantially remodeled in 1799 before the company moved in. This is Donnet's Plate 9 (now at Commons: File:Salle Richelieu - Donnet 1821 plate9 GB-Ghent composite.jpg) showing how the remodeled theatre looked. To me it's not nearly as beautiful as Victor Louis's original design, but it is probably more accurate. --Robert.Allen (talk) 05:17, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comédie Française Fire[edit]

You haven't specified what you think is wrong with the coordinates. Looking at them, the only problem I see is that they were given to an unnecessary number of decimal places. I've trimmed them a bit; but if you still think that there is an error, please give a full explanation, re-adding the {{geodata-check}} template. Deor (talk) 23:12, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
