Libardo Mena[edit]

Libardo Mena was a Colombian artist active in the early 1960s in and around Cali. He painted with water colors and pastel crayons local scenes of streets, burros, and women walking carrying loads on their heads. One of his pastel styles is recognizable from his pixelated block strokes making up light and shadow of his subjects. Cfahmy (talk) 18:29, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We have a guideline to help determine whether a person is eligible (notable enough) for an article in the English Wikipedia. If you think that enough reliable sources exist to establish the notability of Mena, look at Help:Your first article for information on how to start an article. I recommend that you first read Wikipedia:Learning the ropes and then spend some time reading existing articles about visual artists, and making edits to improve such articles, before tackling the creation of a new article. Thanks for the information. Libardo Mena was somewhat well known at the time in Cali but, as I've just discovered, not well enough to be included according to the Wiki guidelines. My family lived in Cali in the 60s and my parents purchased several Libardo Mena paintings. I can't find any information on him by Googling so my post should come down. If I do find secondary sources, I'll record them and repost. Question: Should I take the post down or will you? Caroline Cfahmy (talk) 20:25, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
