Jumhuriya vs. Gumhuriya[edit]

"Heraldic blazon"[edit]

In traditional European heraldry, the eagle would actually be considered a supporter. However, blazoning it the way it's currently done in the article, the word "escutcheon" should probably be used in place of "shield". Not sure this section really adds very much to the article. Why exactly does it say "dexter" after mentioning that it is looking to its left. I know dexter means right-hand (ambidexterity), but how is this suggesting its point? Hobapotter (talk) 22:30, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Horus is a hawk, not an eagle[edit]

Own creation???[edit]

An anonymous user permanently tries to smuggle a wrong version of the first republican eagle in here. On what this "own creation" is based, on which source? Obviously it is a wrong version, better compare crw flags and World Statesmen or the Frontpage of "Egypt's Liberation - The Philosophy of the Revolution" by Premier Gamal A. Nasser (1954). His first "own creation" on wikimedia commons did look more a goose than an eagle. However, Anonymous now refers to that photo - a very small photo and black/white only where you neither can see clearly any details or any colours (the earth balls are not simply green!). It's not the ONLY source. You asked for a photo and I provided one as soon as I saw your request. Rather than being grateful, or at least respectful, you instead made baseless accusations. I am not the author of the correct image file, which you inexplicably deride as being a "wrong version". I'm simply pointing out that it is the correct version, and I kindly provided you with a link as soon as I could. There are other sources which support this. I was simply trying to be expeditious. Also, you have deliberately chosen to ignore the fact that the eagle in the link does NOT correspond to your incorrect version. I refer you again to the size and angle of the wings, and the plume/tail feathers. The one that you are offering is clearly an amateurish attempt to represent the eagle based on a verbal description of the design, not the actual design itself. The fact that it has been used incorrectly used elsewhere (first appearing in a children's book on flags around 10 years ago) does not make it accurate.

this is just a cut away from the flag of the arab republic of egypt
