I agree on the merge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TotalFailure (talkcontribs) 00:06, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, at this point. A separate article has not been developed; it lacks facts and sources.Parkwells (talk) 11:16, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merge and current name[edit]

It appeared there was consensus to merge but this was not completed. Two other problems are the name of this article "coastwise"! and the fact that "Slavery in the United States" is a large article already. If this article has any usefulness it needs to be renamed to Coastal slave trade. Otr500 (talk) 01:49, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Coastwise slave trade" is the established term as you can confirm with search, and most of the specifics have been removed from Slavery in the United States if they were ever there.

This is very much a notable topic and I am restoring the article. --JWB (talk) 05:47, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also note the size of the article tripled since the original merge tag in 2010, User:Parkwells adding detail and references later than their above comment initially agreeing with the merge. --JWB (talk) 05:52, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
