  • I'll review this one (my first DYK, I chose this because the two editors are experienced)
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: The article is well written and sourced but I do not get the hook, "painted in murals" does not make sense. AL1: ... that the Clock Tower (pictured) overlooking Har Ki Pauri has been covered in red and gold murals? or AL2: ... that the Clock Tower (pictured) overlooking Har Ki Pauri is a red and gold painted mural? you will need also to amend the article text to reflect that. Still the fact itself is not enough, why red and gold? (@Whispyhistory: and @Philafrenzy:) FuzzyMagma (talk) 11:07, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @FuzzyMagma:... going through again and may come up with another hook. Sorry for delay... have had problems with internet for last few days. Will ping you when I am done. Whispyhistory (talk) 13:23, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest something along the lines of: "...that in ? the Clock Tower of Haridwar was painted in red and gold as part of an art project to celebrate ????" I couldn't make out the source given or see a mention of mythological stories based on the Vaimānika Shāstra. No doubt it's in the source somewhere. Philafrenzy (talk) 18:38, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks... @Philafrenzy:, @FuzzyMagma:... couldn't find the date it was painted. How about a different hook and possibly change image to the 2010 Kumbh Mela one? Whispyhistory (talk) 05:02, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ALT2 is interesting (and is ok by me) @Whispyhistory:, and @Philafrenzy: version sounds “hokier” if they managed to complete it. Ping me if you finished that thought
@FuzzyMagma:... Hi. Please clarify if I need to do anything here. Whispyhistory (talk) 06:06, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ALT2 is not interesting, and only adjacent to the article subject. We are going to need a better hook. Philafrenzy (talk) 09:52, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Philafrenzy: thanks for your objection. I will then wait for you to finish that thought, i.e., "...that in ? the Clock Tower of Haridwar was painted in red and gold as part of an art project to celebrate ????" FuzzyMagma (talk) 10:19, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can't do that because I don't know and neither does Whispyhistory it seems. I think the problem here is that the article itself is a bit of a mess, with lots of short sections that don't organise the information in a logical way that tells some sort of story. Having read it several times, I am still unclear why the tower was built and what its function is. I suggest a complete re-write. Philafrenzy (talk) 10:24, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • ALT3... that the Clock Tower of Haridwar (pictured) provides a good location from which to watch the daily evening Hindu prayers at Har Ki Pauri? There might be a better one about it being built for travellers before most people had watches but I don't see that in the stated sources. Philafrenzy (talk) 08:12, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point about ALT2 now. ALT3 is more relevant and reference 7 checks out (cannot access ref. 8). @Philafrenzy: and @Whispyhistory: can you please address the failed verification and clarification tags. If you solved ref. 3 verification issue than I think that fact can be an ALT4. If you decided to go with ALT3, can I ask we replace the proposed image by another one that includes the crowd (cropped from any image that contains a crowd). I will crop the image later if you agree with swapping the images … FuzzyMagma (talk) 18:23, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
come to think about the cropped image may not be clear at the DYK scale FuzzyMagma (talk) 18:24, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both. I like ALT3. If you wish to change the image to one with the crowd then suggest it be an evening image (some here), or just leave to one of the clock. Whispyhistory (talk) 06:41, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the image to one with a crowd, it's more colourful too. The tags having been fixed, we should be good to go with ALT3. Philafrenzy (talk) 07:13, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, ALT3a... that the Clock Tower of Haridwar (pictured) provides a good location from where to watch the evening prayers at Har Ki Pauri? Philafrenzy (talk) 07:15, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for new image and fixing the tags. good to go. FuzzyMagma (talk) 07:40, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
With 3a? Philafrenzy (talk) 07:47, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Changed which to where. Philafrenzy (talk) 07:35, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
using Where or which is correct in this context, so I have no issues with ALT3a or ALT3 although I think ALT3 is better in this context, at least it sounds better but I will leave this hanging fruit to whoever is closing this FuzzyMagma (talk) 10:42, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
