theres no such thing 'per se' as thought terminating cliche

i suggest you also wanna link this article to troll/trolling (internet) and flaming/flamewar/inciting flamewar. thought terminating is a process that can be advanced by quite many ways. the point is the derailing of the train of thought, the changing of topic, the shutting down of the discussion. a cliche can be generally true, but is causing/is used to terminate thought, when the discussion was meant to focus in on something specific, but one dominating the discourse trails away from the specific to the generic, this can be achieved by forcing the topic from the specific to the generic, using a truism and concluding on this the whole train of thought that just barely started. its not 'every black cloud has a silver lining' per se that is a thought terminating cliche, but when it is thrown in to a discourse which's aim is/was supposed to find a solution to a specific problem and not treat the problem as one of life's generic hardships that cant be mitigated so better to accept it as part of the status quo. 89.134.199.32 (talk) 21:27, 25 June 2018 (UTC).
