Uncle Tom?[edit]

Unsure how one would go about including this but it seems the commissioner was broadly vilified by the American left in terms similar to what Clarence Thomas now endures. Around the 10-11 minute mark of this 1985 program, Christopher Hitchens compares him strongly unfavorably to the Zulu kapos used by the whites of South Africa to repress their fellow blacks. Seems to have been his legacy but the article could use some sourcing and discussion on it, as well as the extent to which their loathing was justified. — LlywelynII 02:07, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
