Map showing active/inactive sections[edit]

Now that the CityLYNX Gold Line is to open, we need to modify the page, most specifically the map to it. Currently, it shows all the planned stops when it is completely built; it should instead reflect what currently exists. I recommend changing the map to show either: only the active segment of the line or show the active segment and grey-out the future segments of the line. This is again to better reflect what is today and not what is eventually. --WashuOtaku (talk) 13:07, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I just modified the track to be active for phase 1. Now, the track is dark blue, but the stops are still light blue as they are not yet open. When the line actually opens, we can make the stops active as well. If this is not distinctive enough, we could add a "border" between the active and future segments (such as File:BSicon uENDExa.svg). Alternatively, the page can be broken down like LYNX Blue Line/(LYNX Blue Line Extension until the page move occurs), with the active map on top, and future map on bottom. --Scott Alter (talk) 16:53, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure if it is noticeable enough to show active/inactive segments. Also a key indicating would be needed. --WashuOtaku (talk) 17:47, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A key is already there...just click the "Legend" link. This color and shading scheme is consistent across all Wikipedia route maps. Once the stops are in dark blue, the differentiation between dark and light becomes much more visible. But we can still either add in the "border" icons or completely separate this into a two template. No rush on this though. Once the line opens, we can decide. --Scott Alter (talk) 18:07, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I just added in the phase boundaries and also made the stops in dark blue. This should be more than sufficient. --Scott Alter (talk) 19:09, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That works, thanks. --WashuOtaku (talk) 19:19, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Identify Highways or Road Names?[edit]

I noticed a slight inconsistency with the rail map in regards to the use of highway numbers and road names. As of right now it identify the interstates (ignoring US/NC overlaps), but for US 74 it says Independence Freeway. Is their not a reason to keep this consistent one way or the other? --WashuOtaku (talk) 19:47, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Section for Shuttering[edit]

Talk now, action later. Pulling the plug is never easy; but, a section covering media reports of those brave enough to tackle might be worthy for inclusion in article. Thoughts? Wikipietime (talk) 09:22, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What are you asking? --WashuOtaku (talk) 12:40, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

CityLYNX vs CityLynx[edit]

This whole article refers to it as the CityLynx Gold Line whereas the official website calls it "CityLYNX" https://www.charlottenc.gov/CATS/Transit-Planning/CityLYNX-Gold-Line. Should that be updated? (I'm new to Wikipedia contributing btw) Temba Mateke (talk) 17:25, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. While they might use CityLYNX for branding purposes, the LYNX itself is not an acronym or anything, so it is not a concern, at least for me. --WashuOtaku (talk) 20:08, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
