In New Zealand, a variation is played where the word 'Drink' must not be used, you have to say 'consume' in its place. Also, every time you 'consume', you must do so with your non-writing hand, and with your pinkie (little) finger raised in midair.

I notice that all of the alternative rules were removed. It would seem that whoever made this edit may not be very well versed in drinking-game culture. The wide variety and sharing of different variations is highly prized among drinkers, and helps to illustrate that the same game may be played in many ways. Right now, it appears that the article is trying to be a "definitive guide," however no such guide may ever exist. In fact, to say that there is a precise set of rules may be worse than having a list of variations. I would like to recommend either reinstating the variations section, or creating a new article. Given that this is an encyclopaedia, it would be much more appropriate to simply add a paragraph describing the importance of local rule variations in drinking-game culture. An exhaustive list of individual variations might make good content for a book of drinking games or a social study, but are inappropriate content for a factual encyclopaedia that requires its information to cite reliable, published sources. --McGeddon 11:43, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
