Good things

[edit]

We should tell more about the good things chuck feeney did in life that weren’t giving away 8 billion$ 50.206.240.66 (talk) 15:48, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a few items in the past to Chuck Feeney's article, and I believe there is plenty of room for additional details, significant events and charitable activities in his life. In Chuck's case, giving away his considerable fortune to make the world a better place is what he is most known for, so I don't think there will be much push back as long as the activities are notable, verifiable, and well sourced. I'll do some research and see if I can create a few editorial contributions over the next few days. Some of everything (talk) 21:29, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I also added a few cited to the NYT. They were projects he paid for anonymously. I guess his biography would be the place to find other sorts of good deeds. (It's in the Internet Archive but only freely accessible for certain audiences.) -SusanLesch (talk) 17:33, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Relation to 'Chub' Feeney

[edit]

Open question: wondering if there's any relation to Chub Feeney - grandson/nephew to former New York/San Francisco Giants baseball team ownership, and himself, the one-time president of the National League? DarkStarHarry (talk) 15:22, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify "himself", Chub Feeney, not this Charles Feeney, was president of the National League for 17 years. -SusanLesch (talk) 17:30, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dual citizenship?

[edit]

The box has both Ireland and the U.S., but I'm not seeing anything verifying that he held Irish citizenship. The obituaries in Irish newspapers don't mention anything about that. 2600:100A:B1C5:5483:0:33:9189:6901 (talk) 18:47, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I can't find anything on this either. I'll remove it. Marquardtika (talk) 18:27, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
