About Cleanup

I'm guessing that there needs to be links added? I started putting a few in there. I might add some more tonight. I do find, however, that putting a cleanup notice without posting a reason of some sort in the discussion area is a bit well, unprofessional. Bmecoli 23:21, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

I did a lot of clean up tonight. The previous article was a mess. Nat91 24 April 2006

Important

Please, don't talk about certain things in the past tense, like for example "She had a distinctive voice..." I know she retired, but it's not like she died. Nat91 20 May 2006

What A Cartoon! Shorts

Although it's true that Dexter's Laboratory made its debut through the What A Cartoon! thingy, Christine's voice-work should not be associated so strongly with What A Cartoon!. After all, only one episode of Dexter's Lab was necessary on the WAC! to launch the show, hence there weren't any other D's L. episodes on WAC!. I'm going to change the part that says that Cavanaugh is best known for the What A Cartoon! short of Dexter's Lab. I don't think any large-scale widespread demographic would associate someone's voice with the pilot episode specifically alongside the show itself. Sounds a little silly to me. I hope this makes sense. Feel free to talk about this if you really do believe that the What A Cartoon! reference is necessary. 98.202.38.225 (talk) 02:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Agreed, thanks for removing it. Graham87 03:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but what were those personal reasons!?! Why would someone quit a job that was soooo lucrative and prosperous!?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.110.27 (talk) 17:42, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Nat91's comments

Unfortunally, no further information is available about this actress. If you can improve this article, please do. Nat91 16:11, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Is Christine Cavanaugh Dead or Alive

Hello, I was just wonder if anyone can confirm whether Ms. Cavanaugh is still alive or has past on. There is one website that claims she died on December 8, 2002 see here and also from the same site this tidbit, also from the Spokeo website in Ms. Cavanaugh's timeline see here it says in 2002 she died yet there is nothing on the IMDB website or other industry sources that indicate that she is no longer with us. I want to be responsible here and make sure that anything I put in here is correct and does not violate Wikipedia's standards. I mean I could ask Rob Paulsen another voice-over actors who she worked with and whom I am friends with on Facebook but I fear that might be crossing the line. What do you think? Thanks. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 15:58, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Question withdrawn as it is now a moot point with her death now confirmed. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 03:21, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Christine Cavanaugh's cause of death

Hello, everybody! I'm wondering right now, what kind of cause of death did Christine Cavanaugh die? I think she had cancer, if I remember right. What do you think, guys? --193.181.21.1 (talk) 15:04, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

It's fairly irrelevant what we think. We need a reliable source, or we can't say anything. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 15:59, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Elblanco123 Deleting Cite for Year of Divorce

Please explain why you feel this needs to be reverted. The information appears to be sourced correctly. Divercth (talk) 13:44, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

There is conflicting information. Us Weekly says, "Cavanaugh, who divorced husband Kevin James Cavanaugh in 1985," while the Los Angeles Times obituary says, "Christine married Kevin James Cavanaugh in 1985; they later divorced." Neither source says they divorced in 1988, and it is unclear whether they married and divorced in the same year. Melonkelon (talk) 01:43, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
Update: The Independent says, "The couple married in 1985 but divorced three years later." This supports 1988 as the year of their divorce. Melonkelon (talk) 01:47, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

I can't add links because of my limited vision and the lack of audio captcha, but if you look up "Out of the Mouth of Babe", a July 21, 1996 interview from the Washington Post written by Scott Moore promoting the movie Babe, Christine briefly speaks of Kevin being her current husband, which would debunk that they got divorced in the 80's at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:D291:2160:5817:462E:DC77:B57B (talk) 08:02, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

Cause of Death - Reliable Sources

WP:RS is very clear that for living people and the recently dead, we must have a reliable source for any extraordinary claims. Specifically:

Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion.

I (and others) will patrol this article to ensure that that guideline is met. --Tagishsimon (talk) 11:32, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

@ContentEditman: I don't think her cause of death has ever been disclosed, though some sources have stated it was leukemia or chronic myelogenous leukemia. Los Angeles Times (December 30, 2014): "Cavanaugh died Dec. 22 at her home in Cedar City, Utah, her family confirmed. No details regarding the cause of death were disclosed." The New York Times (December 31, 2014): "Her sister, Deionn Masock, confirmed her death, saying the cause was not known." USA Today (December 30, 2014): "According to Wikipedia, the voice actress had suffered from CML or chronic myelogenous leukemia." I think the cause should be changed back to undisclosed, unless other articles have come out and actually confirmed the cause after these initial reports. Melonkelon (talk) 22:11, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Fully agree, and I'm going to do just that after a news search of my own corroborates yours. Articles claiming leukemia as the cause cite the article; others only mention that she had suffered from leukemia, not that it caused her death. 🖖ATS / Talk 21:41, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Cavanaugh used an alias

For the "Rugrats in Paris" soundtrack she simply went by Chris Cavanaugh, one has to look at the song list in the end credits. 67.45.113.113 (talk) 02:23, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
