  1. Prose/MOS
Given the length of the article, the lead should be significantly longer. First sentence of Preservation should be reworked for grammar/clarity. Where possible, suggest providing metric/imperial conversions and modern-day currency equivalencies.
  • I've expanded the introduction/lead into the article and I am open to suggestions for additional/suggested content to be included within the lead's prose. I've also reworked the first sentence of the preservation section, so please let me know if this is reworked enough, as I concur with your assessment that the original structure was cumbersome. For the two mentions of acres, I've added conversion templates for ha. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' Consumer Price Index (CPI) calculator only goes back to 1913, although websites like Measuring Worth can calculate inflation before 1913, although I'm not sure how reputable sites like this one are. I removed the USD mention from the dollar amounts, as I found that Wikipedia's standards for currency require only the currency sign before the numerical amount. -- Caponer (talk) 18:42, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Verifiability/referencing
Relying pretty heavily on Maxwell & Swisher, and on primary sources generally; what steps have you taken to seek further sources? Also, Brannon is in the bibliography but is not cited.
  • I've removed the Brannon reference from the bibliography. I'm also double checking to see if there are any additional sources out there regarding White. -- Caponer (talk) 18:42, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've added other supporting references to augment the Maxwell & Swisher content. -- Caponer (talk) 20:34, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Coverage
Any more information on his early life and education? Most of that section is devoted to his family.
  • Unfortunately, I was unable to find any additional information of his early life and education--I'd be open to changing that section to a title that more accurately reflects its content, like "Family and background." As part of my double-check of additional sources, I will see if I can locate this information, but I'm doubtful of its existence. -- Caponer (talk) 18:42, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • In that case, a title change would be appropriate. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:01, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Done! I've changed it to "Family and background." -- Caponer (talk) 05:15, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Neutrality
    No issues noted.
  2. Stability
    No issues noted.
  3. Media
Don't include "(pictured)" in captions unless needed (none of these need it). The US does not have freedom of panorama for sculpture, so the images of the monument (both in the text and the navbox) will need to explicitly identify the copyright status of the work pictured as well as the photo thereof. File:Old_Hampshire_County_Courthouse_Romney_WV.jpg needs a US PD tag and should identify the place and date of first publication.
  • I've removed all mentions of "(pictured)". -- Caponer (talk) 18:45, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've added the US PD tag to the File:Old Hampshire County Courthouse Romney WV.jpg image, and because it is a scan of a postcard produced before the courthouse's demolition in 1920, the author and place of publishing are unknown. If this is a deal breaker, the image can be removed from the article. -- Caponer (talk) 19:03, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I personally photographed the monument at Indian Mound Cemetery. I've added Template:Cc-by-3.0-us. Does this solve the issue? If not, what would the appropriate license be? -- Caponer (talk) 19:08, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • No. That tag accounts for your copyright as the photographer; what we're looking for is an indication of the copyright of the sculptor/designer. Given the dates, {{PD-US}} would likely work for that. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:01, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks Nikki! I've added the correct template and both images should be good to go! -- Caponer (talk) 05:15, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've added images of his brothers Alexander and Robert White, as they are mentioned within the American Civil War section. -- Caponer (talk) 20:34, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Review is on hold to allow time to address these issues. Nikkimaria (talk) 21:15, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Nikkimaria, thank you so incredibly much for your thoughtful review. I will address all the above issues within the next day. Thanks again! -- Caponer (talk) 05:24, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nikkimaria, thank you again for your diligence and patience exhibited in working with me throughout this review process--it's been a privilege. -- Caponer (talk) 16:28, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
