Particularly the one about lack of a "must-have toy" (and others) in 1990 and 1991 Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were pretty hot toys. Why didn't this and the recession of 1990 effect other stores as well, like Toys'R'Us? The snare (talk) 05:23, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

I'm looking for any images of the early Child World store signs (with the globe with kids dancing around it, I think). This was the main logo for the store for many years and should be part of its history here. If anyone has an image please post it here or send me a message; Blipblip

The Best Buy in my area (Southgate, MI) used to be a Childrens Palace, I remember it from when I was a kid. Also I think I still have that Video Toy Chest, it was such a cheesy video.

I just discussed Child World with a co-worker who worked at one in Massachusetts years ago, and we looked up the entry here together. She swears that Child World was NOT founded in 1974, as the article claims - she worked there as early as 1971, and met her husband-to-be there at around that time.

My own memories tend to cooberate what she says, because we used to drive past (and visit) Child World frequently when I visited my grandparents as a child. I'm sure that was before 1974.

Incidentally, my co-worker also says that there was a different Child World mascot before Peter Panda - she thinks it was a genie. That's an early-childhood memory for me, but I'm pretty sure that I remember that genie, too. PMaranci 13:36, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ChildrensPalaceLogoPNG.PNG[edit]

Image:ChildrensPalaceLogoPNG.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:30, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Child World was indeed around before 1974. The article is wrong, like so much on Wikipedia.

This Entry is Full of Typos[edit]

I don't want it deleted, because the info is valuable, but it needs an edit badly.

I'm not seeing any obvious typos, but anyone can edit the article, so feel free to just fix any typos you've noticed, or be more specific. Siawase (talk) 11:15, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Founding date contradiction[edit]

The infobox says 1970, but the body of the article says 1962. 75.34.23.227 (talk) 21:37, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to the pension funds employees paid into?[edit]

Any idea what happened to the funds Child World employees contributed to? Will they protected from the liquidation and moved or kept in a safe place? 174.17.49.10 (talk) 03:10, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced statements[edit]

User:Erpert has deleted a number of sentences that were lacking sources, see these revisions. They are not wrong, but I think a number of the deleted sentences are accurate and only need appropriate sources, so I am putting this here as a marker, in case some diligent editor is willing to take on the task.
