The phrase 'massive gains' should remain because 5 seats is about 8% of the council, a huge gain in terms of swing. Two futher gains have been recorded through a by-election and a defection, bringing the total to 7, or about 11%. Seivad 14:13, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Merger proposal[edit]
It seems to me that the material in City Council Elections in Chester, if we can find references for it, should be merged in here. No need for two articles about the same defunct council, surely. Also it seems to have been the work of a single anonymous user working on local knowledge and without bothering with references, who lost interest in 2006. Lozleader (talk) 14:33, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
