Spelling[edit]

A recent edit changing 'labor' to 'labour' has been reverted. There appears to be have two arguments for this: (1) 'labour' was described as British spelling & with the town not having any strong links to Britain this spelling was considered inappropriate, and (2) 'labor' was the spelling used originally.

As per Wikipedia's policy the latter has some merit. However, the first is not valid. 'Labour' is not British English; whilst it may be the spelling used in Britain it is also that used in other countries as well, just not the US. The general idea of there being British & American spellings is equally flawed, as it is far more accurate to consider there a group of words used in most countries (for example colour, centre) and the niche variants used in the USA (for example color, center).

There is no reason for an article on a Swiss town to use US English because it has no strong ties to America. Should the niche variant of 'labor' be insisted upon simply because of a Wikipedia policy ... fine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.197.19.137 (talk) 01:12, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
