Untitled[edit]

Where do we get the assertion that Nicanor is Cassander's brother?

And WHICH Nicanor? (The disambiguation page is pretty ambiguous.) A Google search provides no support for the notion that Nicanor and Cassander are related, so I'm removing the assertion.

Though if any later editor finds evidence to the contrary, please feel free to disagree!

Uh, we're told within the space of a few lines that Cassander was Antipater's eldest brother, and then it's implied that he was A's son. (Which, IIRC, he was) Some confusion, I suspect. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.206.225.35 (talkcontribs) 10:52, 6 July 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Diodoros calls him Κάσανδρος (with two sigma total, rather than three). Any idea why? 130.195.124.56 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:38, 20 April 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Additions as part of the Wiki Education Assignment[edit]

Fellow Wikipedians,

I have added a decent amount of material or edited for clarity every section of the article. The new material is focused on supplying more information about Cassander's rule of Macedon with regard to his building policies and assumption of power, with mention of his attempted expansion into Illyria and how his legacy may have been shaped by his rivalries with other Diodochi, as well as more explicit references to which ancient and classical sources provided information on Cassander's motives. My edit was automatically flagged for using Wikipedia as a source, which I am rather certain I did not do (I linked to other pages in Wikipedia, but did not source the sentences containing the links from those pages), but if someone finds that I am in error about this, I would love to know.
