"legendary animator Rick Reinert"[edit]

I'm wondering if the "legendary" in "All these specials were directed and produced by legendary animator Rick Reinert" should be removed. Certainly it's a peacock term; but I'm not sure if it's that big of a problem. However, if it were to be removed, should it be replaced with something that indicates him as popular in a neutral tone?
