Home States[edit]

If the information is available, it would be interesting to list the home states of the American players, to correspond with the home countries of the European players. Greatersam (talk) 17:47, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No doubt a US state can be identified for many prominent US players, for many calendar years during their bridge careers. Fewer players for any particular year, as time passes.
There are no important bridge competitions where players represent states, or entry is restricted by state residence, however. And only two(?) competitions, North American Pairs and Grand National Teams, where that is true of ACBL Districts--of which there are 25 in North America, and few imply state residence. So the official coverage of bridge competition doesn't reveal state and rarely reveals district data. Partly, and partly for the same reasons, there is greater interstate mobility of US players than international mobility of Europe players.

Constituent events[edit]

The greatest need is identification of the constituent events, in detail rather than the glossy "team of four, pairs and individual" and "point-a-board scoring".
