I've done the best I can based on the information I was directed towards. I have no information on early history of the building nor the significance of Budge prior to 2006. I've heard that Budge's reputation for hijinks began decades ago. Student custodians report that documentation as early as 1993 reports problems created in the heating/cooling system due to rotten milk being poured into the vents several times.

I've had discussions at length with residents of Budge in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Although I can find no publication to back the story up, two men reported (didn't know each other, spoken on separate occasions) that in 1982, a locked bookcase was broken into and the contents were stolen. The culprits replaced the bookcase with adult magazines, items pilfered from residents (including car keys to one resident's 1968 Chevrolet Camaro), and three live rabbits.
