Untitled[edit]

There seems to be a mistake at the bottom of the images of medal ribbons for the 19th Century - as the last two are the same. If they are indeed the same, perhaps this needs to be stated.

This has been a useful page in trying to identify ribbons on a black and white photo - so thanks to the person who looks after this article!

This is correct - the Queen's South Africa Medal and the Transport Medal shared the same ribbon. This was actually not all that rare in the 19th century - if you look at the head of that section you will see the 'rainbow' design of ribbon was re-used almost a dozen times for various Indian/Afghan campaign medals. QSA but no KSA - Why is there a Queen's South Africa Medal (1899) but not a King's South Africa Medal (1902) shown; it is always called the King's South Africa Medal, and the Africa General Service Medal is different. There are entries for the KSA on the Australian & New Zealand pages, which could be copied across. KSA page needs a comment that most soldiers who went to South Africa (even in 1902) got the QSA only! Hugo999 14:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Re New Zealand Medals: Is a picture of the 1869 New Zealand Medal avaliable? Re WWI British War Medal & Victory Medal, a NZ soldier who got to England but not the front qualified for War Medal but not Victory Medal (also applies to Australian, Canadian troops?) Mutt and Jeff?[edit]

Now I am confused. I also arrived from the Harry Patch page. The ribbon for the WW1 Victory Medal is shown on this page as rainbow, roughly blue/yellow/red/yellow/blue. That is not the Victory Medal (UK) but the World War I Victory Medal (United States). Is Mutt and Jeff a term used by GB soldiers? "21st Century" Medal[edit]

I have added the Territorial Forces War Medal so if anyone has an image of it they can include? The title of the medal in Joslin & Dorling is "Territorial Force War Medal" (Force nor Forces) so will change by redirect if no objections. Rplacing HEIC Medals and Kabul to Kandahar Star[edit]

I have replaced the 'HEIC_Jellalabad_and_others_ribbon_bar.svg' medal bar as it inverts the ribbon - the red should be on the left, while that shown on Wikipedia until now shows the blue on the left.
