According to "www.liv.ac.uk/~ggastro/Society.news.Oct98.html" the exact date of foundation of the BIS shoul be 13.10.33

I believe the history section is wrong with respect to liquid-fueled rockets being forbidden by the Explosives Act 1875. If I recall correctly, it forbids making your own solid (fuel ready-mixed with oxidiser) rocket fuel as it counts as an explosive. Regardless, this section should cite sources (and perhaps the explosives act link should have a page too), even if I am incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.3.15.104 (talk) 19:02, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Philip E Cleator confirms this was the reason the BIS ceased practical experimentation, in the introduction to his 1954 book "Into Space" (Allen & Uniwin publishers).92.12.55.51 (talk) 22:31, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of 'closeness' to SIS building[edit]

I can't see any relevance for this sentence.

It's also 'close' to New Covent Garden Flower Market and Sainsburys but neither these nor SIS have ay relevance to BIS. Stations and bus routes may be relvant or well known buildings that may identify the location more eaily but this isn't the case either.

Close is also misleading, it's probably 1/4 mile away, down South Lambeth Rd, through the bus station and over the large traffic junction at the end of Vauxhall Bridge.

Unless there's a good reason not to I'll probably delete that sentence.
