Places in the conurbation[edit]

This section includes a list which is referred to in the previous section. I'm not sure how it should be moved around (which is why I didn't take a stab yet) but I believe there's some need to correct the last sentence of the introduction or move it into the Places in the conurbation section. Thoughts? Gavinayling (talk) 20:23, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Map[edit]

Where did the "Map of the Brighton and Hove Built-up Area with labelled subdivisions" come from? The way it divides the conurbation up is a bit odd:

  • Portslade is shown as separate from "Brighton and Hove", although it is part of the City of Brighton and Hove
  • Lancing is shown as part of Shoreham, I'm not sure with what justification

Is there a better one we could use?

I created using the data in the article's source. There are KML map files, you can open them in Google Earth or QGIS. Honestly all the built-up area subdivisions have slightly weird boundaries. Eopsid (talk) 19:16, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Portslade is seperated from Brighton and Hove in the list of subdivisions as well in the map in this article. There isnt any justification given in the source for how they subdivide the built-up area. In my opinion the subdivisions are arbitrary. There is a good justification for the built-up areas and how they create them though. The methodology is mentioned at the top of: List of urban areas in the United Kingdom Eopsid (talk) 19:20, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
