Name[edit]

Why is his name changed to Borissov? It is Борисов, which transliterates in English to Borisov. He is known everywhere in English as Borisov, and he was always called Borisov on Wikipedia. Why the change? Am I missing something? Scoutguy5427 (talk) 00:52, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are missing a lot. That's why you should not poke your nose into areas that don't concern you or that you are not aware of. This is not a page which can be edited by whoever comes accross at it or people who are not informed enough. This is one of the most influential people in Bulgaria. His name is officialy wirtten this way in his official documents - ID, passport and so on. Trying to convince foreigners or malevolent Bulgarians who are editting here is exhausting, so just see his official verified social media accounts and website. Although I'm someone who has just come across this page, I feel Wikipedia articles should be consistent. Currently 'Borissov' appears once in the article, but rather than replacing that instance with the single 's' variant, I'm inclined to say the spelling should follow the official one from his documents and social media, meaning it should be 'Borissov'. As is, the Google Search snippet (or so-called 'knowledge panel') is showing the 'ss' variant, while a few lines down you can see the 's' variant, so something should be done, and I don't have to stress the importance of consistency. Added text from the conspiracy newspaper bivol.bg is questionable and not accepted in the Bulgarian version[edit]

The last couple of edits where a user rightfully tried to remove text that is of questionable character should be returned. Bivol is widely considered a conspiracy media in Bulgaria much like Alex Jones in the USA.

They have been doing some credible reporting through the times, that's why they got recognized by other foreign media outlets, as they are working in the corruption field. The problem is that they are mixing articles of real corruption with articles that are in large part purely made up, in the form of 20-70% real credible journalism, with 80-30% of stuff that is made up. This is the reason why other media outlets lately, like monitor, which was a great supporter of some of the corruption articles of bivol themselves, have started to turn against them, as they are realising that they are writing tainted articles. And no other papers are citing them as sources, as they did in the first couple of years, where they did some serious corruption cases. If you look at the text that i am trying to remove, you can also see the way it's written, that it is probably themselves that have added it. The paper bivol has a longstanding war with Boiko, alot of their articles is about him over the last couple of years, it's mainly become an anti-Boiko paper. Personally i dont like Boiko either, and i wish he were removed from politics as a whole, but the way to do it, is not by posting this kind of tainted news on wikipedia. So im happy with all the criticism here about him, but just as long as it doesn't come from Bivol. No, Bulgaria has, it is him, but I found out that even though he resigned, he is still PM until the Assembly picks a new one. Should've checked.
