Is this page about Bosnians or is this actually another page about Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks?

Just wondering...

You already have a page about Serbs.

You have a page about Croats.

You have a page about Bosniaks.

So why on this page about Bosnians there is nothing about Bosnians? Do you even know who Bosnians are?

Do you know how internationally admitted an recognized independent country Bosnia and Herzegovinia got its name? Do you know that every country has its own national identity and own Nation that derives it's name from that IDENTITY.

Do you know that Bosnians derive its national identity from the country that is called Bosnia, therefore the language will be Bosnian and citizens of Bosnia are called - Bosnians.

And citizens of Serbia are called Serbs.

And citizens of Croatia are called Croats.

And citizens of Germany are called Germans.

This Bosnian page is saying that Bosnians are Germans, Americans, Croats, Serbs and Bosniaks.

Do you understand that Bosnians are simply Bosnians. This is their national identity. It does not matter what Germans, Serbs, Croats or anyone in the world feel about it! It's their free will.

If you declare that Bosnia is your country you are citizen and you could be alien you are Bosnian.

If you declare that Bosnia is NOT your country, you are not citizen you have no business doing this page and pulling it in favor of your respectively chosen country!

I see here lots of non-Bosnians who are pulling strings in favor of their countries ( Serbia, Croatia mainly!! ) not allowing this page to be about Bosnians? Why?

Do you know that Bosnians derive its national identity from the country that is called Bosnia, therefore the language will be Bosnian and citizens of Bosnia are called - Bosnians. - First, there is no such thing as "Bosnian nation" or "Bosnian ethnicity", the term Bosnian is anachronistic in any other sense other then being regional appellative. Second, the country is named Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is composed of 3 markedly different nations (Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks) which have had centuries of co-existence (with a few ethnic cleansings now and then) in their own respective cultures.

I assure you that no one is "pulling strings" around here, it's just that people get very nervous when terms such as Bosnian are loosely applied. For instance, most of the foreigners (incl. the geniuses at Ethnologue) naively assume that the Bosnian language refers to the "language of Bosnia", when it facts it refers to the codified language of the Bosniaks (codified, as the Bosniaks also speak dialects that are not Ijekavian Neoštokavian), some kind of Turkish-influenced cross-breed of Serbian and Croatian. Serbs and Croats of Bosnia certainly do not speak such Bosnian language, as they've been calling their language in their respective national names for centuries, and have had separate literatures in it. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 14:32, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

I see, you don't know the difference between a nation and an ethnicity, Ivan.... Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats are not nations, but ethnicities, while a Bosnian is a nation, just like a Serbian is a nation, while a Serb isn't.80.80.40.208 (talk) 15:49, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Ivan is on a clear pro-Croat agenda here, in fact Bosniaks are linguistically more homogeneous than either Serbs or Croats, their language did not arise as some absurd breed between "Serbian" and "Croatian". Speaking of antiquity 'Bosnian' is just as old as 'Serbian' or 'Croatian', with a linguistic corpus possibly even richer than the other two, however with Serb and Croat nationalists we always fall into the same viscous story of how Bosnia and everything Bosnian has "really, really, really" always just been Serbian or Croat. In regard to the Turkish vocabulary influence on the Bosnian language, it exists, but so it does in Serbian or Croatian, it is only in the past century that Serbs and Croats have forcibly thrown out a part of the "Turkish" words, but far from all. Especially, the Croats even continue to this day to make up new words in their language to artificially distinguish themselves from Serbs or Bosniaks, one example is the word for helicopter which they have come to call "zrakomlat" (literary "airbeater"). Behind all of this is naturally just a heap of nasty nationalism based on pseudo-science. It is also not true that Bosnian Serbs and Croats have "been calling their language in their respective national names for centuries", simply because of the fact that Bosnian "Serbs" and "Croats" only came about in the 19th century when Catholic and Orthodox Bosnians started declaring as such. Allow me to cite acclaimed US scholars John VA Fine and Robert Donia: "A Bosnian's identity as a Bosnian - even if it originally referred to his geographical homeland or state membership - has roots going back many centuries, whereas the classification of any Christian Bosnian as a Serb or a Croat goes back barely a century." - Robert Donia, John VA Fine (2005). • agnostics ( agnostika )
• orthodox( pravoslavaca )
• atheists ( ateista )
• other religions ( druge religije )
• non-religious ( bez religije )
• etc. ( itd...)

who are citizens of Bosnian Nation and members of it's Bosnian People. In other words all those who are members of:

• Bosnianherezegovinian Nation ( Bosanskohercegovacke nacije ) and
• Bosnianherzegovinian People ( Bosanskohercegovackog naroda )

Bosnians are SLAVS, whether Croat, Serb or "Bosniak". I know that some Bosniaks wish to remove themselves from this Slavic classification, because Serbs are Slavs, as are many of the other eastern European countries which morally support Serbia and are against Islam in Europe, but you cannot change your hertiage, no matter how many Turkish or Arabic loan words you artificially introduce into the Bosniak "language". Hxseek = nasty Serb nationalist. Is trying to subtly convey something by putting Bosniaks and their language in quotation marks as if they were less of a real people than "Bosnian Serbs" or "Bosnian Croats". How transparent his hate towards the Bosniaks are. Perhaps he should pick up a few scholarly books and read how the classification of any Christian Bosnian as "Serb" or "Croat" barely goes back a century, before that the primary identification of any Bosnian regardless of religion was Bosnian (or Bosniak which was the prevalent name before the 19th century). If anything, the "Serb" and "Croat" elements in Bosnia should be put in quotations marks because they are certainly of a newer date than either "Bosniaks" or the "Bosnian language". 90.230.54.125 (talk) 17:04, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Term:"Bosnian" is simply regional,it has nothing to do with nationality.Just like "Vojvodinian or Sumadinian or Sandzaklian" can not be a nation or a ethnic group,so that "Bosnian" is not a nationality.Bosnia is artificial creation set up in Dayton at a request of Nato,but it will soon be dismembered.The process has already started. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.0.181.116 (talk) 23:56, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Wrong numbers

The numbers are a complete mess.

Accroding to the official, state population census from 2013 there is relatively few "Bosnians" in BIH. There is around 2.7% people who didn't identify with Bosniak, Croat or Serb nationality, however exactly how many among these 2.7% identified as "Bosnians" is not known.

Also, the CIA factbook (listed as a source) is just an estimate and not as good source as the an official census.

And even this CIA factbook doesn't list "Bosnian" as a sole nationality, instead it writes : "Bosnian, Herzegovinian". So according to this CIA source, we also have around 3.8 milion "Herzegovinians" in BIH.

Inaccurate statement
