External links section[edit]

@Cnkaufmann: In response to your comment elsewhere, about losing the "further reading" list from the article, I checked through that deleted list in the hope of being able to put it right and get the list back into the article in decent condition, but found that I could not.

Every item in that list had a problem. Some of them brought up alerts from my PC's firewall, because they were dangerous connections. Some were deadlinks. None of them (excepting the Billion Graves link) mentioned Reinhardt's name. That means that I had to remove all but one of the items from my shortlist of hopefuls.

If you wish to make a new further-reading list that will not get removed from the article, here is how to do it.

  • If any items in the list contains external links, keep them below the External Links subheading.
  • An exception to the above is books and other publications with online links, which you have put in template format. e.g. the cite formats that drop down from the top of your edit box.
  • Include only links whose content is about Reinhardt or his work, or which mention Reinhardt in a way which adds something useful to the article content.

Note: I have added a commons category template in the External links section, so that the subheading will stay there if your list is removed again. I have left the Billion Graves link there, because I personally disagree with WP on its policy about including Billion Graves, because the public can edit that site, i.e. it's not authoritative and peer-reviewed. However, like IMDb, it frequently contains important material that cannot be found anywhere else. You may still find that the Billiam Graves item will be removed by another editor, and I can't stop that, but at least that link is not useless or dangerous, as were most of the other items on the list.

I hope you will be able to find a more suitable list of further reading later. Storye book (talk) 19:27, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ETA: And here's another thing. Some of the items on your deleted "further reading" list were about people associated with Reinhardt, e.g. people who performed with him or ran the clubs where he appeared. If any of those people have their own WP articles, you can include those internal article links in a "See also" subheading ... but that section can only include WP article links (no external links, and no names of people who have no WP articles).
