Termination of WOSM Membership[edit]

[1] Circular 38/2014 of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement detailed the termination of Beslidhja Skaut Albania as a member effective 16th November 2014. I'm assuming there will be a number of pages to edit that has lists of WOSM members, countries with no WOSM affiliated members, etc. 14.201.54.34 (talk) 01:47, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

English name[edit]

Is there an English translation for the name? --evrik 22:11, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I propose we make the change to Albanian Scout Association. The name as it currently is listed does not fit in with Wikipedia:WikiProject_Scouting/RulesStandards#Article_names. The discussion is now going on at Proposed changes to non-English WOSM member article titles, so I suggest we keep our comments there. --evrik 10:02, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any citable source for this translation? It's only used on Wikipedia [2] and I can't check it since I don't speak Albanian. --jergen 11:39, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Although I don't speak Albanian either, I have browsed around about and I can't find any reliable citation for this translation either. On the contrary, the translation seems a bit dodgy, and therefore I fully support your deletion of it in the article. Wim van Dorst (Talk) 16:22, 28 October 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Albanian Scout Association[edit]

{{moveto|Association of Albanian Scouts}} I propose we rename this article. This change is proposed in order to bring this foreign-language Scouting article title into compliance with the spirit of both WikiProject Scouting - Rules Standards, Article names and Wikipedia:Naming conventions. The discussion about this is currently taking place at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Scouting/Translations#Proposed_article_name_changes. --evrik (talk) 14:53, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please list at WP:RM. Patstuarttalk|edits 07:47, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wasn't listed and is outdated. --jergen 07:48, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

We discussed the renaming of this article at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting/Translations#Albania and came to the conclusion that the organizations name is not translable. User:English Subtitle moved the article despite his knowledge of this discussion. --jergen 07:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List under uncontroversial at WP:RM; an admin should move it back. Patstuarttalk|edits 07:53, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

Hi Guys!

Well I do speak Albanian even though i don't know anything about scouts i can help you with translation

Beslidhja- Can be divided in 2 parts

  • Besa: means oath or vow
  • Lidhje : means to tie something

But when these to words are together it means you made a promise to someone or gave them your word. So in other words you made an oath (a very old Albanian Tradition). But it is very difficult to translate it into English.

Organizata Skautiste Shqiptare Beslidhja Skaut Albania

I thing this is too long and wrong....

It should be Organizata Skautiste Shqiptare Beslidhja which translates as The Albanian Scout Organization Beslidhja.

Skaut Albania I Believe should be taken off
