Name[edit]

The name should be at the former name - the Handbook of British Chronology gives that as his name, as does the majority of the entries in the PASE. The name you've made this into isn't even listed as a recorded name in the PASE (that link in the external links). Also, you can't just "copy-paste" information to start a page - you need to MOVE the page, or properly attribute information you've copy-pasted, neither of which got done here. As the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography also uses Byrnstan and has nothing for Birstan, I've merged the pages to this title. A redirect is still in place at Birstan for now, although I'm happy to delete it if no source actually uses that spelling. Nev1 (talk) 13:35, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I've a copy of Farmer, David Hugh (1978), Oxford Dictionary of Saints, Oxford University Press, ISBN 0-19-283036-8 I decided to check the entry for Byrnstan to see what variations on the name it gave. It lists him under Birstan with Byrnstan and Beornstan as alternatives. Unfortunately I noticed the entire entry for Byrnstan had been copied into Wikipedia by Roman Zacharij (talk · contribs); consequentially I've deleted the reversions with the copyright violations in and have restored to the version before this problem.
