McCandlish's work with Chamorro children[edit]

I reworked a sentence to include (as per the cited source material) that McCandlish and others in US Naval Command would often work in a dictatorial manner towards the Chamorros on Guam (especially children). I edited the word "renewed" out from the page because it, I think, insinuates that the Chamorros were not concerned with their health and hygiene at all until the civilized United States military showed up. Public domain image[edit]

There's an image here https://sg30p0.familysearch.org/service/records/storage/dascloud/patron/v2/TH-7799-112578-1934-30/dist.jpg?ctx=ArtCtxPublic (found via https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/MGR6-HSQ/benjamin-vaughan-mccandlish-1886-1975 in case that direct URL to the image doesn't last) of him as a young officer that must be public domain (he's clearly in his 20s, which would put the image well under the copyright cutoff date).  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  08:39, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
