The article states that this bug's bite is one of the most painful, but the Schmidt Sting Pain Index doesn't include it. Someone needs to cite that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.236.251.130 (talk) 03:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

The Schmidt Sting Pain index only references those insects that sting, Hymenoptera. Belostomatids don't sting, they bite. A reference to a different pain index could be beneficial. Bwsmith1 (talk) 14:43, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Error

"Belostomatids show paternal care and the eggs of many species are laid on the male's wings and carried until they hatch"

Huh? So OTHER species lay their eggs on the male?

This has been seen to occur in the laboratory (Menke, 1960) where a gravid Abedus indentatus female laid eggs on the back of an Abedus dilatatus male. Bwsmith1 (talk) 14:43, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
