Notes[edit]

I was asked to look over this article. It seems to be a fine article on a battle, and I'd recommend WP:GAN as your next step. I'll be happy to look at it again after it passes GAN so I can give a recommendation on A-class.

  • I generally don't deal with image issues, but all of the legends on the images are in Spanish; that would probably be a problem at A-class.
  • Some of the article is in Spanish: "in pero en mayor medida por el ascendiente que tenía o podía asegurar llegado el momento sobre la oficialidad y marineria que era principalmente oriunda de las islas británicas: irlandeses, ingleses y escoceses."
  • Some of the article that isn't in Spanish feels like it was machine-translated, such as "which then maintained the agreement with White alive."
  • All of the references are in Spanish, and some parts of the article are unreferenced. Surely the battle is covered in English sources. If you don't have any English sources, you may want to ask for suggestions at WT:MIL. You can often get Scheina's books on Latin American naval history for not much money, or of course you can get them through interlibrary loan. - Dank (push to talk) 16:46, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good points, thanks. I have some old books about the period, lost in my library. Will look for them this weekend. I'll take care of revisiting the translation and fixing what is needed. -- Alexf(talk) 16:58, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I look forward to it. Some of my FA collaborations are on Latin American ships, and I enjoy working on these articles. - Dank (push to talk) 17:20, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
