Copy and Pasted[edit]

Major portions of this article appear to have been copy & pasted from the outdated source, The Mameluke; Or, Slave Dynasty of Egypt, 1260-1517, A. D., William Muir. Which may explain the lack of page number(s) in the citation. A major rewrite appears to be in order. Any assistance would be appreciated. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:33, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mamluk army[edit]

Per The Cambridge History of Egypt Vol. I, page 498;"The mamluks excellent horsemanship and valor brought them initial success. Yet their cause was doomed from the start. Although exact figures about those periods are rarely known, most sources estimate the size of the Mamluk army at around 20,000 men, comprising mamluks, auxiliary forces and many Bedouin Arabs." --Kansas Bear (talk) 17:41, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
