1st go[edit]

Initial article. Edit away. I was surprised she didn't have a page. I don't know when she was born or very much about her, but she's an important figure in contemporary American art. Mathtinder 04:32, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

link 'Art Gallery'- relevant to Gladstone?[edit]

The recently added link named 'Art Gallery' points to http://www.lovelypaintings.com . I could not find anything related to Barbara Gladstone at this link. Are there any objections to removing this link? Mathtinder 02:33, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, me again- I noticed that the same anonymous user added the ', aka lovelypaintings.com, link to the Wiki Painting article, right around the same time the link got added here. The link was deleted from the Wiki Painting article within an hour. Lovelypaintings.com does have something vaguely to do with paintings, but it certainly has nothing to do with Barbara Gladstone. Since the link was removed from the Painting article so rapidly, I feel pretty confident deleting it from the Barbara Gladstone article as well. Incidentally, if anyone who knows anything about Barbara Gladstone feels like visiting http://www.lovelypaintings.com , I'm reasonably certain that you'll double over in laughter at the thought that said site has anything to do with one of America's most important art dealers. It's some nonsense like 'pay us $20 a month and we'll display 10 of your paintings on our website'. Hehehe. Wikispam is always funny.  :) Mathtinder 05:08, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

stating the obvious[edit]

When we cite Jerry Saltz, saying "She staged Matthew Barney’s first New York solo show in 1991 and has since helped debut many international artists in the U.S." as "Gladstone Gallery notably staged Matthew Barney's first New York solo show in 1991 and has since helped debut many international artists in the U.S." and that get changed to "Gladstone Gallery staged Matthew Barney's first New York solo show in 1991 and has since exhibited many artists." we turn a statement that tries to show that the Barney show was a pivotal moment in the development of the gallery to a pleonasm. Of course she continued to show artists in the last 40 years. That is what galleries do. There is no need to say that art galleries exhibit artists. Explain how BEFORE Barney is different from AFTER Barney. Vexations (talk) 20:55, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
