Any idea how http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/balihai.htm clears copyright on these lyrics? RJFJR 17:37, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm adding a link to the Djarum page, which makes a cigarett called Bali Hai. Max18pratt 01:45, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

obscure wording[edit]

In the 1958 Film, Bali Ha'i is portrayed by the real-life island of Tioman. The film, however, was shot on the north shore of Kauaʻi ...

Does that mean the film includes long shots of Tioman but the actors never set foot there? Or what? —Tamfang 01:53, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bali Hai lager beer[edit]

The beer probably warrants its own page. 202.74.162.26 (talk) 06:18, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Phen[reply]

Bali Hai Scenery.[edit]

I was told by my uncle The Right honarable Ben Riwai Couch a past member of the NZ Parliment that some of the Waterfalls and scenery for Bali Hai were filmed on the South Eastcoast of the North Island of NZ? Paliser Bay. Can anyone tell me if there is any truth in this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.199.7.116 (talk) 17:33, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody has mentioned the fact that the overture of the film "South Pacific" is a lyric free instrumental version of the song Bali Hai! Dan Reedman 31 August 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.98.5.122 (talk) 03:53, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Last entry in subsequent uses[edit]

What does that mean? That sentance doesn't make sense. Is it a community or some sort of beverage?Knag (talk) 14:24, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Aoba Island, as opposed to Vanikoro?[edit]

A citation is needed to show that Aoba Island is what inspired Michener's Bali-ha'i. In Tales of the South Pacific, Bali-ha'i is located just off of (nearly a part of) an island called Vanicoro, which is 16 miles west of the island from which Lt. Cable is based (and Billis at one point as well). "Vanicoro" seems to be a reference to Vanikoro, which better matches the description in the book of Vanicoro and Bali-ha'i. Vanikoro is north of Espiritu Santo (as well as Noumea, as also mentioned in the book). Geographically, Vanikoro has smaller islands around it, similar to the description of Bali Ha'i's placement in the book. And Utupua Island is located about the right distance away from Vanikoro to be the island which Cable and Billis are stationed on. - Hooperswim (talk) 16:35, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
