Bagism Picture[edit]

Hey, they need a picture on here of John and Yoko being bagists. There's a good picture here http://www.johnandyoko.com/photographsofjohnandyoko.htm , but I don't know what to do, otherwise I would. If anyone could put that picture on there, that would be awesome.

They don't need a picture of any recognizable person being a Bagist -- that's the whole point of Bagism: the message, not the messenger. What they should have is an unidentifiable picture of a person with a bag over their head, holding a sign with a message.

Greg & Katie[edit]

The reference to John & Yoko's bag wearing at The Alchemical Wedding is confusing. Who are Greg & Katie, what is The Alchemical Wedding, and what do the quotes around the second use of the phrase "made love" mean? Do people in this time really not know what "being in a bag" meant in the late 60s as in Papa's Got a Brand New Bag? It's roughly equivalent to "box" as in "thinking outside the box" in current usage, and doesn't necessarily have a negative connotation other than narrowness. 72.228.190.243 (talk) 01:24, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Black Bag experiment of 1967[edit]

Professor Charles Goetzinger conducted a social experiment in his class at Oregon State University by having a person in a black bag with only their feet visible turn up to class regularly <ref United Academics, or Google either Charles Goetzinger or The Black Bag Experiment> . His experiment, began in February, 1967, became well-publicised and had the interest of the media at the time. My point is, this experiment occurred shortly before Lennon and Ono first coined the term "bagism" and it could be speculated that the idea for bagism may well have come from The Black Bag Experiment. Interestingly, Ono's take on the meaning of "Bagism" and the psychologists' view of the effect of The Black Bag Experiment, being to further reinforce the phenomenon known as "mere exposure", are somewhat different.

Bagism in John Lennon Songs[edit]
