Associated_acts parameter of the infobox[edit]

In this edit, I majorly scrubbed the |associted_acts= parameter of the infobox, as it was getting ridiculously bloated and coatrack-y. Per the Template:Infobox musical artist instructions, "This field is for professional relationships with other musicians or bands that are significant and notable to this artist's career. This field can include, for example, any of the following: For individuals: groups of which he or she has been a member. Acts with which this act has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together. Groups which have spun off from this group. A group from which this group has spun off. It doesn't seem to me that one-off collaborations on singles. If he and Aastha Gill charted #1, that's noteworthy. And if he and Yo Yo were in a team, that's noteworthy. But if he was just a hired voice on a track or on multiple tracks, that doesn't necessarily mean that it was a noteworthy collaboration, since professionals in every area will often intersect with other professionals without it being specifically noteworthy. Requested move 29 April 2021[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: No consensus to move. It looks like we are getting disagreement over pageviews versus long-term significance. There's no consensus that the rapper, who is popular now, is primary based on long-term significance or coverage in reliable sources. – it makes sense cuz Badshah is usually spelt for this very guy unless people have been spelling the broader badshah as "Baadshah" with 2 a's. So we should assign this spelling to him AppuSunkad (talk) 11:23, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:40, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Note: Badshah titles a page with significant content and so it is ineligible as a target new title unless it is also renamed. This request has been altered to reflect that fact. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 14:33, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @AppuSunkad: "Padshah" and "Badshah" and similar are a Persian-origin word/title for "king" or similar. The rapper should keep his disambiguater. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:40, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose malformed, target is a well populated dab page. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:14, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Red X symbolN Maybe locally “Badshah” primarily refers to the artist, but globally (in an English-speaking context) it does not. ‑‑ K (🗪 | ) 17:36, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Moving Badshah (rapper) to Badshah and consequently moving the disambiguation page at that title to Badshah (disambiguation) requires establishing that the rapper is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. In terms of page views [1], since 2015 (when the rapper article was created) the rapper's article has had 2.2 million views. The article Padishah has 392,000 views. The assertion at the top of the disambiguation page "Badshah or Baadshah most often are alternative transliterations of Padishah" is not only contrary to MOS:DAB style, it's actually untrue: most often Enwiki readers searching for "Badshah" are looking for the rapper. Badshah (rapper)Badshah – The rapper easily has much more notability and no other page of the similar name has competitive page views, moreover spelling "Badshah" is exclusively used for the rapper hence this should be assigned as primary subject. • Oppose and speedy close, OP proposed this very move not two months ago, and there was no consensus. 162 etc. (talk) 15:11, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: Pageviews are barely 50% which is borderline at best for a primary topic. The title Padishah (alternate spelling for Badshah) probably has more long-term significance than the rapper. -- Ab207 (talk) 13:01, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
