Sorry Sunil[edit]

Sunil, I didn't think your edits were an improvement on the synopsis that we had, so I reverted them. I don't want to discourage you ... we need all the help we can get here. But it might be better if you worked on providing synopses for some of the other films that don't have any; then other people can copyedit your English. There are thousands of good Bollywood films with no entries and no synopses, so the field is wide open! Zora 07:20, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 17:22, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

title[edit]

Why does the article title have 2 A's between the W and R, when the poster has only one? I also have a DVD that shows it with only 1 A. BollyJeff || talk 19:04, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Importance rating[edit]

Shouldn't it be at least mid-importance? It's one of the classic films and all, if you know what I mean. Fireblazex3 (talk) 13:48, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 12 December 2015[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved as currently laid out. Film Fan, in future, please don't alter your proposals like this – it means to understand what everyone has said the closer needs to go digging through the page history. Jenks24 (talk) 05:05, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

– In the English-speak world (WP:NCF), Awāra becomes Awaara.[1] You can spell it with the accent or with the double "A", but not a single "A" without the accent. Same reason Baahubali: The Beginning is titled that way, among others. The 2012 film is actually called Awara, and has to be disambiguated from other uses. WP:COMMONNAME also supports these three moves. Film Fan 00:46, 12 December 2015 (UTC)--Relisted. Tiggerjay (talk) 00:19, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: I've now updated the proposal (fixed 1st, removed 3rd) to reflect early consensus, 70.51.44.60, In ictu oculi, Lugnuts. Film Fan 11:20, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose "2012" move; I oppose moving the 2012 film. "Awāra" is transcropted a number of ways, one of them includes "Awara" by simple stripping of diacritics, so the 2012 film should not be moved. There are also multiple films listed at the disambiguation page Awara -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:04, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as proposed "1951" move; I think Awaara should redirect to the disambiguation page, so if the film is moved it should go to Awaara (1951 film) -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:10, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose first and third move. As a variant Awaara should redirect to the Awara disambiguation page. If the 1951 film is moved it should go to Awaara (1951 film), the 2012 film should stay put. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:42, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No particular opinion on the song, it is transcribed both ways in Google Books I would have thought आवारा हूँ should be Aavaara huun. Which Hindi romanization system does en.wp favour? In ictu oculi (talk) 09:52, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relisting comment: Relisting to receive consensus regarding revised request. Film Fan updated the proposal at 11:20, 12 December 2015 (UTC) and since then there has been no specific discussion. Tiggerjay (talk) 00:19, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
