References?[edit]

Does anyone understand the references used in this article? Are they from a magazine or something? SQGibbon (talk) 00:32, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The references of the article are both Swedish language books. Feel free to formate them more correctly in accordance to wikipedia standard--Aciram (talk) 01:39, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On second thought: I just looked at the references once more. I may have mixed them up a little. The article give these references:

  • Astrid Tydén-Jordan (in Swedish): Kungligt klädd, kungligt mode ("Royal dress, royal fashion") (1987) Stockholm
  • Anna von Ajkay : ”Man kan om man vill, sa sömmerskan Augusta Lundin”. I: Kungligt klädd, kungligt mode (You can if you wish, said the seamstress Augusta Lundin. Part one: Royal fashion (Red.) Astrid Tydén-Jordan. (1987) Stockholm. (Swedish)

I have read the first one, and that is indeed a reliable Swedish language reference book about fashion history. The second one, however, is a part of the first book; it is the name of a chapter in the book. That's why I recognized both titles. I appologize. It seems the article really does only have one reference. --Aciram (talk) 02:03, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this, give me a little time (I'm busy with other projects at the moment) and I'll make the appropriate changes and corrections. What would help in the meantime is if you give me the full information for the book and label it clearly (since I don't speak Swedish). I need the author's name, the title of the book, when it was published, where it was published, who published it, and it's ISBN number. If you can find the page numbers that make the various claims that are footnoted in the article then that would be even better and the references would be a lot more clearer. Without the page numbers there won't be any footnotes just a single note at the end stating that the book was used as the source. If you can also provide the original quotes from the book that are used for each of the claims in the article then I can put those in the references and we'll have a pretty good article in the end. I don't have the book here now, and I will look up the IBSN-number, page-numbers and publisher, when I have the time. The title of the book is :Kungligt klädd, kungligt mode (in English translated to :"Royal dress, royal fashion"), and it was published in Stockholm in 1987. The main editor of the book is Astrid Tydén-Jordan. --Aciram (talk) 12:50, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I found some more information about the book and put all the information into the References section. I've left the old references there so that it will be easier to replace things with page numbers if you can find them. It will basically be in the form of parenthetical citations like: She is considered to be the first international Swedish fashion designer (Tydén-Jordan, p.23), as well as the first well known fashion designer in Sweden (Tydén-Jordan, p.25).
