Is This Article Appropriate?[edit]

It seems to me that this article is simply information that could have been deleted under WP:TRIVIA. As such it is largely unverified, and should be incorporated into the larger article or deleted. Ramsquire ^{(throw me a line)} 23:29, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted some of the worst offenders on the list during my copy edit; they were mere references to the assassination, making them trivia. That's consistent with WP:IPC. However, I think the rest of the article meets the WP:IPC criteria sufficiently, and doesn't need to be merged. I am surprised that I know of three items that should be added to this.

Godley and Creme - Lonnie A man named Lonnie Garamond kills Kennedy with a camera gun.

Was (Not Was) - 11 miles an hour. Song about the assassination, and the speed the car was going.

Columbo: The Grassy Knoll By William Harrington (Author) Columbo solves the Kennedy Assassination.

I added your references. IMHO just because something is terrible doesn't mean it should be ignored, suppressed or censored. Perhaps it's crude to make comedy, sensationalize, or exploit the murder of anyone, not just the prez, but free speech must remain paramount no matter how badly abused. The JFK Assassination was in Comedies??!![edit]

I am both appalled and ashamed to see that the assassination of President Kennedy has been in comedies!! Comedies??!! Is this for real?!

I honestly can’t imagine anything funny about it!!

In my opinion, the “worst offender” in the “In comedies" section is the paragraph regarding the "Tikka to Ride" episode of Red Dwarf, where “the characters convince the alternate John F. Kennedy to go back in time and shoot his past self from the grassy knoll, arguing that this action will restore his historical position as a liberal icon.”

Again, is this supposed to be funny?!

I think that the entire “In comedies” section deserves deleting, and be permanently banned by Wikipedia. (Not to mention the parties involved and listed in this section.) Yeah, I said it.

Oh, did I mention that I actually saw JFK and Jackie arrive at Carswell AFB, Ft. Worth, Texas, on Thursday night, November 21, 1963? And, did I mention that I also shook hands with Texas Governor John Connally? Thus, I have a very "personal investment" here.

Comedies about assassination? How disrespectful!! How sad!!

Color Coded Flag Markers?[edit]

I'd like to request color coding (or flagging marker icons) for each piece of media to mark it "official green", "undecided amber", or "conspiracy red" (other colors may be better). It might illustrate a propaganda Hollywood connection, or not. Regardless I can't help but think statistically it might illustrate something. This might be a good thing to apply other "conspiracies", theories, and contested ideas too. JasonCarswell (talk) 18:16, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Assassination of John F. Kennedy in popular culture[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Assassination of John F. Kennedy in popular culture's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
