Chinese Taipei[edit]

It is rather rediculous to have references to Chinese Taipei before the term ever came into use. ludahai 魯大海 14:30, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd rather use the ROC flag under the hosts column. --Howard the Duck 16:06, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Final standings[edit]

In trying to fill in the gaps with this article - or more accurately create the missing articles for the individual tournaments - I've discovered that the reference I've been using contradicts the results that are listed in the main table here. As far as I can tell there's only the one reference for the existing info that's up here, but I have no way of reading the site it points to. I'm guessing that its in one form of Chinese or another from the ".tw" on the end of the domain. From what I can tell, its another wiki, which by itself is not generally accepted as a citable source, compounding the fact that its not in english which is the first preference for references.

In the interests of fairness, here is the link to my source on Google Books: "Diamonds Around the Globe". (I have the actual book in print with me in case you're wondering.) The specific points where what's already in the article doesn't match what's in the book are: 1962, 1963, 1983, 1985 & 1989. I've gone looking for other possible sources online to see what might be correct, or to explain why there might be some difference in interpratation - like with in the Olympics whether the first measure of the best country is the total number of medals, or the number of gold medals - but I've come up empty.

Given that there are no english sources cited at the moment, I'm going to overwrite what's there with what the book has. If someone can translate the other - there might actually be other sources cited there - or can find a source that backs up the other version, I'll happily stand aside and let it go back.  Afaber012  (talk)  03:27, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because I'm getting rid of it, the url for that old reference is here, so that others can still take a look at it. Afaber012  (talk)  03:35, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
