Asha-Rose Migiro website[edit]

I removed the references to the website www.asharosemigiro.com as it is a fake website that was set up without authorization by either Dr. Migiro or the United Nations. See http://www.unsg.org/wordpress/archives/186 for details.Tfleming 23:31, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why am I having such trouble with external links on this article? Anyways, thanks for catching it. Picaroon 23:34, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dual posts?[edit]

Could the person who posted the infobox provide text that supports the dates listed for Dr. Migiro holding both the Deputy Secretary-General post and the Foreign Minister post of Tanzanzia concurrently? Otherwise, please correct the dates. Tfleming 23:34, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean the side infobox, or the infobox of the bottom? Picaroon 23:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
At the bottom. Tfleming 23:37, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay. That one's called a "successionbox," which is why I wasn't sure which one you were referring to. Anyways, according to this article, she resigned the foreign ministry post on January 11, 2007 - six days after her promotion - which explains the minor overlap. Picaroon 23:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I have just read Friday's UN noon briefing, which also suggests that Migiro will not take up the DSG post formally until early February. Will be posting such to UNSG.org shortly.Tfleming 23:50, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alright; just remember that (as I'm sure you know), per the Verifiability policy, we're not able to cite anything you write for the article. I've got a link to the press release itself, and will modify the article accordingly. Picaroon 00:09, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On this, the transcript of the briefing is a preferably source, but for the record, UNSG.org is cited in a number of Wikipedia articles as a authoritative source under the Verifiability policy. *grin* Tfleming 03:34, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

xinhua news[edit]

The communist news agency Xinhua is untrustworthy. The following reference is thus removed.

Kommodorekerz 08:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I added it for the photo, not the content. Xinhua may not be neutral, but it is a reliable enough source for the purpose of displaying a photograph. Could you point to some other places where consensus has shown that editors believe Xinhua to be untrustworthy as a link? Otherwise, I'm not convinced there's any basis for your removal. Picaroon 23:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since you haven't responded, I'll be readding it. Picaroon 23:07, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
