Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Deserves better[edit]

I think he deserves a better article than a simple laundry list of his results. According to his death notice Kotov said of him "if he had been born in the Soviet Union he would have been a world championship contender" (or similar). He was immensely talented but the Franco regime didn't support his chess activities. He had to take unpaid leave from his regular job to compete in international tournaments. I feel that way with every player who passes away, that real effort should be put in to complete the article. Of course as we know, it can be very time consuming and there aren't that many people keen to do the hard work on biographies. Not that much extra in the encyclopedias, but it would be good to swap some of those forum/blog references for some more authoritative sources. It may also be possible to break up 'the list effect' with some additional light comments e.g. his Stockholm Interzonal appearance was the closest he got to a world title challenge - probably worth including, since he promised so much as a junior. Golombek has a few words about his nervous breakdowns of the 1960s and subsequent good recovery (although I think the recovery was short-lived as he ceased serious play in about 1977. Agreed that Moran's book would be very useful if anyone can oblige. I have done the best I can with it, and have included many more references and some content that is new (hopefully not too controversial!). However, I want to flag up that his tournament results are not brilliantly covered. Unfortunately, I don't have time to review them, and it really needs someone with access to a complete set of Di Felice volumes to do a good job. In a nutshell, his results appear to contain some of his poorer finishes - e.g. 15th/16th etc. while other, better results are missing. That's just from a quick glance though, so I stand to be corrected Brittle heaven (talk) 16:01, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Larsen game[edit]
