Note from the article author[edit]

I gather that according to Wiki protocol I should mention the fact that I am Arthur Bowen's son. In contrast to most articles created by a notable person's son I am not a particular admirer of my late Father: although he was a caring and mild-mannered man we never got on together, and my memories of him leave me with the distinct impression that he was on the edge of insanity. I created this article after my own children started taking an interest in his life, and under pressure from other family members. Since I'm the only member of the family who both knows how wikipedia works and can string a few sentences together, I agreed to take on the task. Deed poll[edit]

I notice that the London Gazette [1] gives notice that he changed his surname in 1974 from Bowen to Mainwaring-Bowen. It also seems like a useful source, in addition to the DNB, at least that he was a solicitor, and where he lived (Torquay). Also should that be the name used as the title of the article, with a hyphen? Billlion (talk) 15:24, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
