Arnaldo dell'iraArnaldo Dell'Ira – Please place your rationale for the proposed move here. – Triktrak (talk) 11:47, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink).  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  15:44, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, procedurally, since it has no rationale, and substantively. I'm pretty sure this should be Arnaldo dell'Ira. The overcapitalized version is probably only plausible for an American (or Canadian or whatever), and only if the subject spells it that way consistently, and the RS go along with it. This is just like "de Souza", "von Buren", "na gCopaleen", "á Beckett", etc.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  15:44, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

PS: If the norm in Italian now is to capitalize the de[l[l[a]]] parts of names, so be it, but RM respondents will expect to see this reliably sourced, as a general matter and for this subject in particular (not everyone with such a name uses the capitalization pattern the nom is advancing, even if it has become more common). Regardless, it certainly should not be "dell'ira". We know for certain that one is wrong.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  01:39, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move to Arnaldo dell'Ira. Per MOS:NAMECAPS, the "dell" bit should not be capitalised, similar to John de Balliol mentioned there. But "Ira" should be capped, as the main beginning of the surname.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:26, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
