Untitled[edit]

Ariel was born in 1998.

When she was 7 years old, she voiced Harmony (age 7) in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.252.184.230 (talk) 21:45, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Birth Year Confusion[edit]

It's not possible that Ariel was born on May 4, 1994. She sounded like a little girl in movies and television programs. Therefore, she was born on December 31, 1998. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.182.25.49 (talk) 20:08, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

January 28, 1998, according to the IMDB. Wonder why there's so much confusion about her birth date. --85.216.46.138 (talk) 01:14, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

College Humor -- Dora[edit]

I can't think of a good way to write it in, but she's now playing Dora from College Humor's parody series of Dora the Explorer.

Side note, does anybody know if this is the reason for Modern Family's hiatus? --Sauronjim (talk) 07:08, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is the parody series even notable? Doesn't appear to be, as which is the cast with the majority of web series (there are exceptions, but this doesn't seem to be one). Even though the standards for notability are easier for just a line in a table of credits, per WP:INDISCRIMINATE and WP:BLP. We don't include every role that every individual has played on every medium. -Aaron Booth (talk) 18:38, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I removed it as non notable, unsourced. --Malerooster (talk) 02:29, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Her Family[edit]

Breast Reduction[edit]

Since no one has opened a discussion here - should this be mentioned in the article? It can be reliably sourced and the subject has talked about it in interviews, but is it encyclopedic? I would say No. Its a rather minor event in the life of an celebrity (surgery that affects the appearence not being uncommon) and is highly unlikely to have any lasting effect on her career or notability. While it can be reliably sourced, those sources are effectively of the celebrity coverage area and do not indicate any lasting importance - as an example, it was covered by BBC's 'Newsbeat' section of its website which deals mainly with media/celebrity gossip. Albeit reliable celebrity gossip, but still gossip. Only in death does duty end (talk) 12:46, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Does it appear in any secondary sources about the event? Remember that news reports about an event are primary sources: they report what's just happened, rather than providing the facts that seem important when viewed in hindsight, because they don't have the ability of hindsight to analyse what's long-term important. Wait until this specific event gets retrospective coverage. Nyttend (talk) 14:23, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There are, but to be honest the Glamour piece is probably the most informative given it is an interview with the subject after the event. It could be (from a brief googling) sourced to multiple secondary discussions. Its just not of long-lasting notability. (Just to make clear, I dont think it should be in the article at all). Might be worth pinging the BLP noticeboard but I think most people there would be unlikely to think it should be in the article either absent long-term coverage. A clear consensus here that it is not worth mentioning should be enough. Only in death does duty end (talk) 14:51, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • No. Too gossipy, etc. BLP concerns cited by protecting administrator, with which I agree. Drmies (talk) 15:58, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Unless an actress is known as a "sex symbol", putting that type of personal info in the article seems inappropriate. Contrast that with Pamela Anderson, where it makes sense to discuss it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 15:59, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Breast reduction has been mentioned (tastefully) on Soleil Moon Frye's article, it was all of one line and referenced. On this article, the only source was a blog on the glamour page which would fails RS right off. I'd say keep it off until it's been reported in a reliable news source, and if it's placed in here, it needs to be one line, similar to how it was done in Soliel's article. KoshVorlon 16:39, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In this case, if the facts are all correct, this would have been done when she was a minor, and still is (for about the next 3 weeks). Does that figure into the BLP rules? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:53, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Normally yes, but interestingly Ariel is emancipated. Only in death does duty end (talk) 17:02, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So am I, but you better not be discussing my breasts. Drmies (talk) 17:32, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not unless you have them reduced.... Only in death does duty end (talk) 17:41, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Because that gives you consent to talk about them? Isn't that what we call gossiping in the first place? -- Chamith (talk) 17:44, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
First, she's underage. Second, her breast reduction needs to be discussed by a reliable source. It doesn't matter if it's widely reported by celebrity news sites (I can use the Drake Bell-Justin Bieber feud as an example). Emancipation is irrelevant. An emancipated minor cannot consent to have sex with someone who has reached 18 or whatever the age of consent is, and cannot drink and smoke cigarettes. The only thing emancipation does is make you responsible for yourself. -- Joseph Prasad (talk) 03:09, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Totally. This is even ridiculous to begin with. Wikipedia is by no means a news site. -- Chamith (talk) 04:24, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well given the recent fuss about Winter's dress at the SAG Awards, plus the fact that she's openly acknowledging the reduction we should make mention of it. (If only I think it might end up being constantly referred to by her same as how Demi Lovato opens up about her issues). She's had two separate interviews with People Magazine (which should meet the RS requirement), one of which openly refers to the Glamour blog post which as mentioned above is the single best source on the topic. This is the earlier of the two and this is a follow-up story. And as mentioned, the current round of press is mentioned in US Today among other places - see here. I would think something like this (with the links being proper references within the article):

In June 2015, Winter underwent breast reduction surgeryref 1ref 2; she later commented on her decision that "being a 5-ft.-tall girl and having extremely large breasts is really ostracizing and excruciatingly painful."ref 3. She has since worn fashion styles that openly show the scars from the surgery saying "there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all."ref 4

Thoughts? Tabercil (talk) 23:49, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. It should be mentioned. Unusually large breasts are a challenge for young actresses, especially if they started acting as a child. She has mentioned it herself on a variety of talk shows. It doesn't need a separate section, but a line or two should suffice. Hobbamock (talk) 14:36, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship status[edit]

I suggest that her relationship status with actor Luke Benward should be included in this article Wikendgeria 2.0 (talk) 23:04, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

American dad appearance[edit]

I added it before but somebody deleted it probably because they thought it was vandalism. She does in fact play Hayley's cow in the 2023 season 18 episode 7 of American Dad called Cow I met you moother. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.29.45.148 (talk) 21:53, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
