does anyone here besides me see that it's a lot like wales? anyone? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.175.5.174 (talkcontribs) 04:30, 3 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I'm afraid I don't know too much about Wales to answer. In what exactly do you see similarities? --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 06:11, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Probably in being a relatively small and mountainous country next to a larger nation... AnonMoos (talk) 03:48, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your help, Archenland[edit]

Is there ever an explanation given for why Archenland didn't do anything during the rough spots in Narnia's history, i.e. the 100 year winter and the invasion of the Telmarines? It seems strange that Archenland is consistantly mentioned as a great ally of Narnia, and yet they don't bat an eyelid whenever it's occupied. IIRC Susan describes Archenland and Narnia as "friends time out of mind", or something like that. Were the Archenlanders actually allied with the White Witch or something too? Sorry for rambling. Any information/explanation would be appreciated. Darien Shields 00:36, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a relatively small country whose inhabitants had no special abilities to counteract major sorcery. In any case, when Lewis was first writing TLTW&TW, he probably hadn't yet clearly conceived that the world of Narnia contained countries other than the country of Narnia...
