New Zealand as well as Australia?[edit]

At the top of the infobox it has country = Australia and New Zealand. Is it a memorial to NZers as well as Australians? I know NZers were part of ANZAC but isn't this memorial to Australians only (despite the ANZAC in its name)? Nurg (talk) 06:44, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The second Lake of Reflection[edit]

This article does not seem about to go anywhere, so There is currently a proposal by the City of Sydney to complete the second Lake of Reflection in time for the 75th anniversary of the ANZAC Memorial.   •  Comment: I have mentioned this issue at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military history#ANZAC War Memorial move discussion (diff) for more input.
    • I am concerned that new editors that may have a COI have taken it upon themselves to make large changes, in particular "ANZAC War Memorial" to "Anzac Memorial", throughout the text. Even if "Anzac Memorial" is the 'official' name, WP:COMMONAME would apply.
    • In my experience it is commonly known as the "ANZAC War Memorial", written either ANZAC or Anzac, but as ANZAC is (or was) an acronym I feel uppercase is more appropriate.
    • The page name has been "ANZAC War Memorial" since 07:30, 31 August 2004‎ when the page was created, over 11 years. [2] 220 of Borg 15:47, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose This move request was apparently suggested based on edits made recently by a new editor with only four edits to his name. Unfortunately, as explained in the section that I've opened below, the edits constitute original research. Edits by A Martin[edit]

Recent edits to the article by new editor A Martin include "Correction of errors based on consultation with Brad Manera, Anzac Memorial Head Curator" and "Based on consultation with Brad Manera, head curator at the Anzac Memorial" in edit summaries. As he has only made four edits in total to Wikipedia, A Martin is probably not aware that this is a clear indication of original research. Disambiguating the title[edit]

Irrespective of the outcome of the renaming discussion above, could we look at some kind of disambiguation. There are many ANZAC memorials in Australia. Adding “, Sydney” or similar would be helpful to the reader. Kerry (talk) 12:40, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Who opened the extension?[edit]

I was at the ANZAC War Memorial extension today, and took a photo of the plaque outside:

THIS MEMORIAL EXTENSION
WAS OPENED BY A
GRANDSON OF THE QUEEN
ON THE 20TH OCTOBER 2018

Media at the time is quite clear that the extension was opened by Prince Harry, in an official capacity at the time, accompanied by Meghan Markle.
