Disputed content related to Hilder's viewpoints[edit]

Hilder has appeared on television to discuss his views. One such was an interview in the early 1970s on Kaiser Broadcasting's Lou Gordon show.[1][2] In the past, Hilder has been vocal about Communism, [3] and has supported Ronald Reagan.[4] In a 1972 interview with the Los Angeles Free Press, Hilder stated he was no longer a republican and identified himself as a libertarian.[5] He has been described as favorite fact finder for many conspiracy theorists.[6]

As I've tried to communicate at User_talk:Karl_Twist#Anthony_J._Hilder, this appears to be simply more of the problems that have made this article extraordinarily poor.
WP:NOTEVERYTHING says, Information should not be included in this encyclopedia solely because it is true or useful. A Wikipedia article should not be a complete exposition of all possible details, but a summary of accepted knowledge regarding its subject. Verifiable and sourced statements should be treated with appropriate weight.
I think it would be best to rewrite the article completely from Hilder's notability, or work to expand upon his notability before getting into disputes about minutiae. --Ronz (talk) 15:56, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply to above, incorrect statement "simply more of the problems". The problems that existed before don't exist now except for the fact that the article needs extensive work. Yes I accept the blame in getting carried away and expanding on it. But, you're not being accurate. All I am doing since the article was trimmed to a better size was put in some info (backed up by credible refs) to give an outline of his political stance. You have not helped at all. Karl Twist (talk) 10:20, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We need consensus for inclusion of the content. Complaining about me makes it appear you don't have any policy-based rationale for including the material.
Let me get the discussion back on track:
I've removed the "favorite fact finder" content completely. Without context from a better source, I don't think it belongs. (The url redirects, which is another problem.) The source is a puff piece covering a convention. The content within the ref gives no context beyond that he was a controversial speaker at the convention the previous year and was a special guest the following year, available for interviews and discussions.
As for the Lou Gordon show, I don't know why any mention is deserved. I've reworded it around the most noteworthy aspect from he reference, that he was ejected from the show. --Ronz (talk) 16:35, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't restore the "favorite fact finder" bit again without consensus. --Ronz (talk) 18:12, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TIVO as a publisher for ALLMUSIC[edit]

Is TIVO really an RS for a BLP. AllMUSIC is a TIVO enterprise and they make clear in their FAQ that all content comes directly from TIVO and can not be edited by ALLMUSIC. As far as I can tell TIVO has neither the expertise nor the publishing safeguard necessary to be used as an RS on a BLP. Am I missing some part of TIVO that does professional publishing?AlmostFrancis (talk) 05:58, 2 February 2019 (UTC) On a similar not it looks like Discogs is user generated. My understanding is that we remove user generated content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlmostFrancis (talkcontribs) 06:20, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced content[edit]

Now that user generated content has been removed there is a whole lot of unreferenced material. I'll start removing it tommorow unless there is a plan for adding references. AlmostFrancis (talk) 05:26, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think adding citation needed or refimprove tags for the sections would be more appropriate, the tags give people time to find sources before deleting. Hzh (talk) 12:20, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Karl Twist (talk) 15:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this list. Additionally, all content like he's mentioned in books such as... should be removed from the article and the references could be added to this list. --Ronz (talk) 16:02, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've refined it somewhat so there's just one book mentioned and the refs. Below is possibly a labor of love by Eddie Ugata of Japanese surf band The El Caminos who have recorded for a modern version of the Del-Fi label. Three pages of it. He's allegedly a leading authority in Japan on 1960s Surf Music. Of course that's not all of Hilder's output but it gives an idea of what he was pumping out. I didn't have any idea that his productions etc, were on some of the other labels.

Tender Records[edit]

Tender Records was owned by George Motola. Rock on: The solid gold years (P 560). According too a couple of sources incl Rockin' Steve of 45 RPM, Hilder headed Tender Records for a while. He replaced Motola. Probably have too get a better ref than this one.
