This is a stub. I created the article to hold the Gutenberg author link, but the material in the reference I found makes it clear that Abel is notable.Someone interested in her subject area should fill this out. (It's not clear that she is British: she appears to be Canadian, but she apparently self-identified more with the British empire as a whole.) -Arch dude 21:35, 14 April 2007 (UTC) When one writes a "review" of a historian, one should never say "One of the ablest women historians of her day..." She was either an able historian or not. She was not able in relation only to other women historians. She was able in relation to ALL historians of her day. Give me a break![reply]

Hi Afh1858 I have some feedback for you regarding this article:

I don't think information about her marriage/husband/dissolution belongs in the section "Professional achievements". Instead, you could create a "Personal life" section where content like this is listed
Links seem a little scarce, particularly in the "Early life and education" section where there is currently only one. What topics might the reader want to learn more about? I like to have at least one link per paragraph (and sometimes many more than that)
Wikipedia Manual of Style policies say that we shouldn't use the term "Dr." to refer to people, even if they are a PhD or MD (MOS:DOCTOR). So instead of "Dr. Edward Gaylord Bourne", you can just have "Edward Gaylord Bourne".
I would probably remove this sentence "The collection is open for research use" as it sounds like advice or a notice.

Thanks, Elysia. I worked on this a bit today and changed most of things you suggested. I also added more links. I haven't yet found a picture thatI can use for her, but I'll keep looking. There are a bunch, but mostly in university archives. Afh1858 (talk) 16:31, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
