First in Europe

Which one was first in Europe? Because both Aquaris A4.5 and Karbonn Sparkle V has information, that it was first. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.73.179.184 (talk) 14:46, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

Unformatted formatting code formerly under History

Please someone fix this. Someone submitted a quoted paragraph under History, without checking whether their format codes would work. I deleted it from my cell phone, since I didn't see how to revert it. I believe I deleted more than I should have, and don't see how to revert my edit from my phone, and I am not at my computer. Sorry. SalineBrain (talk) 23:07, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

Possible redesign?

There are so many different phones by now (thanks for all your work) that the whole thing got unreadable. I believe it could be a good idea to transform the text into a table. This would make it a lot easier to find information you are looking for. What do you think? 2A02:8109:8E00:6BE0:AD02:7355:21EC:98C4 (talk) 22:31, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

I agree. I came to the talk page after noticing that the newest addition to Android One, the Xiaomi device, is listed in the 1st generation product, inside the India country. The current presentation is pretty messy, a couple of tables (eg : one for comparing generations, one for comparing devices of a same generation with the info of which country they are released in) would greatly improve the page.

1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on "generation"

Is there any information available regarding the Android One "generation"? Is that even a thing or something made up by a Wikipedian to better structure this list? What defines a generation and are there any sources available? -2A01:598:9184:335B:CC81:2B8D:D46B:5EC1 (talk) 15:28, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

It may be ordered by date of announcement in order to easily see which phones have the most updates left. I believe I read that Android One phones are only promised 2 major OS updates by most manufacturers.
Google promises 3 years of security updates regardless of OS. See the note at the end of this page:
https://www.android.com/one
"***Confirm exact duration of support for phones in your territory with smartphone manufacturer. Monthly security updates to be supported for at least 3 years after initial phone release."
--Timeshifter (talk) 15:44, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
I went ahead and changed "2nd, 3rd, 4th, generation" to years. "1st generation" section entries need launch dates so they can be moved to the appropriate year sections. Some of them must be for 2014. Working on it. Feel free to help. --Timeshifter (talk) 16:31, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
"1st generation" section changed to "2014". Some 2015 items moved up to the 2015 section. --Timeshifter (talk) 22:57, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

About OS updates

In Googles official blog they say :

"Faster access to Android OS updates for two years"

More from that 22 Feb 2018 article:
"Faster access to Android OS updates for two years, including the latest AI innovations from Google; Amongst the most secure devices in the ecosystem with regular security updates for three years and Google Play Protect built in;"
I added the info to the article. --Timeshifter (talk) 21:35, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Samsung Galaxy View2

Hi, Can you consider adding a reference link of Samsung Galaxy View2 Samsung Galaxy View2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marketnab (talkcontribs) 15:58, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

As far as I can tell it is not an Android One device. -- Timeshifter (talk) 17:34, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

Are "Motorola One Phones" really Android One devices?

Regarding the undo of my addition of the Motorola One Hyper, Timeshifter undid this because according to https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/motorola-moto-one-hyper-hands-on-review it is not an Android One device. Yet https://www.androidauthority.com/motorola-one-hyper-review-1062580/ claims "As the name suggests, the software is actually based on Google’s Android One skin." So who to believe? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevebow (talkcontribs) 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Stevebow: Apparently, some "Motorola One" phones are Android One phones and some aren't.
"the Motorola One Zoom is the first Motorola One phone that's not a part of the Android One program globally." - that's from:
https://www.digitaltrends.com/opinion/motorola-slowly-departing-android-one-program-is-bad-for-consumers
So it seems any Motorola One phone released after the Zoom is not Android One. -- Timeshifter (talk) 07:00, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
Actually, looking into this further, I see a comment at https://www.xda-developers.com/motorola-one-hyper-64mp-rear-camera-45w-charging/ that "Android One devices are easily identified by a square/rectangle logo with 'Android One'" and "requisite identifying logo". I see the Motorola One Vision has this logo but the Motorola One Hyper does not. If this is true and can be verified (that Android One phones must carry the logo), it would be worth adding into the article I think. This "Motorola One" branding is just going to cause confusion now! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevebow (talkcontribs) 07:04, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
Stevebow: If you can verify and source that, please add it to the article. -- Timeshifter (talk) 07:14, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
https://www.engadget.com/2018/09/03/android-one-faq-2018/ states "This is another reason why Google doesn't publish its requirements for Android One -- they could change pretty frequently." If that is the case, it's possible Google may, say, require one manufacturer to carry the logo and another not. It's a little messy to say the least...--Stevebow (talk) 07:38, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Nokia 2.3

Someone tried to enter info for Nokia 2.3 and made a big mess that messed up multiple things in the article:

The edit was reverted. Anyone can feel free to enter it into the table correctly. -- Timeshifter (talk) 17:11, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

I added a minimal incomplete entry for the Nokia 2.3 --Neuhaus (talk) 14:58, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, Neuhaus.
@FormularSumo: I removed your Nokia 2.3 references in the table. They are incorrect. They are for Nokia 2.2. -- Timeshifter (talk) 14:38, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

I copy and pasted from the Nokia 2.2 row but didn't mean to copy the reference FormularSumo (talk) 16:18, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

@FormularSumo: In the article could you please add the reference for Nokia 2.3? I am sure you found the details somewhere. Otherwise Nokia 2.3 will have to be deleted from the article due to lack of references. See: WP:Verifiability. -- Timeshifter (talk) 08:30, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Samsung phones

Please stop random phones to the table. Samsung has nothing to do with Android One, e.g. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.106.100.200 (talk) 14:57, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
