Written like a resumé[edit]

In addition to lacking citations, the tone of this article is problematic since the subject of the article has contributed to its content (and talk page). An article that strictly summarizes a career is okay, provided it is well sourced and neutral in point or view. I’m not convinced these criteria have been met. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:2A5F:EEFE:985B:9CBA:3CAA:5F0D (talk) 01:55, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Got Sock Puppet?[edit]

The guy, Andrew Dalby or Charles Davis Douglas, has written his own article. He is perhaps more notable for self aggrandizement than his notably out-of-print books. 24.91.228.116 14:49, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't do sockpuppetry. I edit under my own name. The minor edits I've made to this page (see the history) have been to add a couple of links and correct minor details. Andrew Dalby 21:36, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is this nastiness? Many valuable books go out of print, alas. Dalby's books are standard references for ancient food. --Macrakis (talk) 23:18, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

... in any case, most of them are in print! Andrew Dalby 13:20, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added[edit]

... two new publications available 2009. I hope that's appropriate. Andrew Dalby 11:35, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I have removed the old merge proposal template. It was opposed on Talk:The World and Wikipedia and it does not seem to be actively pursued here. --Edcolins (talk) 17:23, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
